5 Brands That Nailed #MayThe4thBeWithYou

IMG_0525.jpgWell, May the 4th came and went faster than making the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs, but some brands still found the time to observe the greatness that is Star Wars. We scruffy nerf herders at The Starr Conspiracy celebrated with a Starr Wars game night (get it?).

But never tell us the odds. Read on, you will. The Force was strong with these five brands for #MayThe4thBeWithYou.

1. SportsCenter

I don’t care if this commercial is old — SportsCenter could share this video every single day and I would still love it. Many sports brands did well on #MayThe4thBeWithYou (some not so much), but SportsCenter took the gold with this post.

2. Domino’s

A lot of B2C brands had great (albeit advertorial) posts yesterday, but the Domino’s post stood out because, come on, making a Stormtrooper uniform out of pizza boxes cannot be easy. Your midi-chlorians would have to be off the charts to achieve that kind of focus.

3. Syfy

For a channel whose most recent accomplishment is creating the Sharknado trilogy, it was super classy of Syfy to acknowledge the impact Star Wars has had on the science fiction genre. Well done, Syfy.

4. The Academy Awards

Another classy post yesterday came from the Academy Awards. Relevant, tasteful, and to the point, this post was elegant in its simplicity.

5. The White House

The president, first lady, Stormtroopers, and R2-D2 dancing to “Uptown Funk.” Shut down the Internet. Let’s go home.
