Giving Back to Our Community

When we attended the recent American Advertising Awards, we were on pins and needles. We waited in anticipation for The Starr Conspiracy’s name to be mentioned. Not solely to hear our name mentioned as an ADDY winner, but also for our pro bono work on the American Advertising Federation – Fort Worth chapter’s revamped website. (We’re thrilled that we took home five awards for our work over the past year.)

In the weeks leading up to AAF – Fort Worth’s biggest awards ceremony, we were completely revising the nonprofit organization’s portal to the world. As the largest marketing and advertising agency in Fort Worth, we are proud to give back to our community through pro bono work.

“The AAF – Fort Worth board said they are thrilled to get a state-of-the-art website to better communicate the value they bring to membership, and they love the way it captures the culture of who they are as an organization,” said Jason Martinez-Miller, an AAF – Fort Worth board member and director of agency operations and engagement for The Starr Conspiracy.

Over the years, we’ve provided about $1 million in professional services, at no cost, to the City of Fort Worth, area museums, local foundations, and now our own industry’s professional association. We’re able to do this because of the revenue we bring in from our clients across the country and around the globe, working mostly with enterprise software companies in the human capital management arena. Typically, when we do client work locally, it is pro bono to benefit organizations in our community.

It was especially exciting to work on this project because we built it from the ground up — from messaging framework to artistic concepts to wireframes to coding the site and setting up the backend user access.

Our writers, creative team, and developers poured their souls into the new site. Our operations and accounts team put in countless hours of coordination (as they do with so much of our client work). So we were excited for our association’s membership to hear about the new site.

While we took home five ADDYs for the work we do for some great clients, our best prize of the night was the pride we all share in AAF – Fort Worth’s new website. The theme of the new site is centered on three words — connect, inspire, and educate. Great ideals to aspire to in our day-to-day work.
