HR people usually get a bad rap in film and television. At The Starr Conspiracy, we happen to love HR people, but it’s still fun to laugh along with some of our favorite characters.
- The Bobs — Office Space
The Bobs are everyone’s favorite efficiency consultants. You gotta love their appreciation for a straight shooter like Peter Gibbons. He has upper management written all over him.
- Gary Irving — Silicon Valley
Before he promoted Nelson “Big Head” Bighetti to HooliXYZ’s Sole Head Dreamer, contract master Gary Irving had to perform the daunting task of explaining Hooli’s unassigned designation to Big Head.
- Ryan Bingham — Up in the Air
No one ever wants to get fired, but if it has to happen, few people can do it like corporate downsizing expert Ryan Bingham. Favorite quote: “Anybody who ever built an empire or changed the world sat where you are right now. And it’s because they sat there they were able to do it.”
- Pam Poovey — Archer
Pam Poovey is hands down the worst HR director of all time (seriously, there isn’t a single video clip I can share in good conscience), but we love her all the same.
- Toby Flenderson — The Office
Poor Toby. At least he has his passion for HR.
